KPMG’s corporate responsibility commitment was recognised at last night’s Corporate Engagement Awards, with its work winning a gold award in the Best pro bono work for a charitable, social or ethical cause category and a silver award in Best community involvement in a corporate engagement programme category.
This is the third year of the Corporate Engagement Awards, the UK’s only dedicated celebration of partnerships, sponsorships and corporate responsibility.
In a ceremony at the Hotel Russell in central London, hosted by television presenter and Paralympic medallist, Ade Adepitan, KPMG was praised for its corporate responsibility programme – BRIGHT – delivered in partnership with Child Helpline International, Fairtrade and Restless Development.
BRIGHT launched in 2010 as KPMG’s first cross-border corporate responsibility programme. BRIGHT demonstrates KPMG’s commitment to unlocking potential by encouraging its people to use their professional skills to Act Local and Act Global to support the UN Millennium Development Goals. So far, BRIGHT has delivered £3.5 million of expertise and support against a target of £5 million over 5 years, and engaged more than 120 BRIGHT participants from 17 KPMG practices to deliver pro bono support to Child Helpline International, Fairtrade and Restless Development.
The Corporate Engagement Awards programme was established by Communicate magazine, the UK’s leading magazine for corporate communications and stakeholder relations, to celebrate and benchmark excellence in corporate partnerships and sponsorship. The entries were judged by a panel of sponsorship, corporate responsibility and partnership experts and communications practitioners. The awards point to the future of corporate engagement and mutually beneficial partnerships.
