A team of professionals from KPMG in Birmingham helped deliver a workshop to advise unemployed people across the West Midlands on how to get back into work.
A team of 12 attended a workshop organised by SIFA Fireside in Digbeth - a local charity tackling homelessness, alcohol misuse and social exclusion - to provide guidance on job hunting, interview skills and building confidence.
The team worked with SIFA Fireside clients who are keen to get their lives back on track but who have been struggling to find a job.
Matt Payne, associate partner at KPMG, said: "The job market remains challenging for many and when you have been out of employment for any length of time it is easy to lose confidence and find it challenging to get back into work.
"When you add to this financial and health worries, there are many factors working against you at a time when you should be able to present yourself in a confident and positive manner.
"SIFA Fireside's workshop enabled us to offer guidance on how to seek out opportunities and then overcome low confidence to help each individual to take control of their future."
KPMG has had a longstanding relationship with SIFA Fireside for over a decade, providing CV writing and interview help, donating computer equipment, providing clothing and food to those most in need and helping the charity with business plans and applications for social enterprise funding.
Cath Gilliver, chief executive of SIFA Fireside said: "We’re delighted with the ongoing support provided by KPMG, and this workshop has given our clients a real confidence boost along with some very practical tips for their job search.’’
