Teresa Sienkiewicz, director in KPMG’s pensions audit practice, has received an OBE in this year’s New Year honours list for services to the accountancy and pensions professions.
Teresa has been at KPMG for 19 years and during that time has provided advice on pensions and accounting regulation to a wide range of clients. She was chair of the pensions committee at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) until three years ago, and has represented the ICAEW in consulting with a number of government bodies on pension regulation issues for over 25 years.
Teresa has a severe hearing loss and was possibly the first deaf graduate from University College London in the early 1970s. She has been an active member of KPMG’s Disability Steering Group since its inception in 2005.
Teresa said: “I am delighted to receive an OBE, which is a great honour. I am lucky to have had a fantastic range of clients and a great team of people in pensions audit to work with. I would like to thank my colleagues at KPMG for all their support over the years.”
