Michael Robinson has been appointed UK Head of Management Consulting at KPMG. He assumes his new role having previously led the firm’s Financial Services Management Consulting practice.
Simon Collins, UK Chairman of KPMG, says: “Our advisors focus on the issues that keep our clients awake at night; whether immediate problems or opportunities, as the world turns to growth again. Transformational projects are central to the management consulting business and the financial services sector, in particular, is transforming not just operationally but through deep cultural change. Michael has led many of the most pressing transformational change projects in one of the most affected industries and is, therefore, well placed to lead on the delivery of plans to push forward our management consulting practice’s growth ambitions.”
Michael joined KPMG as a partner in 2005. Focusing on business and technology issues for a variety of UK financial institutions, he has spearheaded the growth of the firm’s financial services team. His roles within KPMG have ensured that Michael brings wide knowledge of both the corporate environment and the performance and technology issues that affect organisations across the public and private sectors.
With over 20 years consulting experience, his appointment offers clients a unique perspective as they seek to improve customer service and build robust organisations capable of competing in a rapidly changing economy. His track record also brings to the role an ability to develop strategy across all sectors where regulatory and transformational change is becoming the norm.
Commenting on his appointment and the challenges that lie ahead for the UK, Michael says: “In the context of an increasingly competitive business environment, organisations need to evolve their business models. They need to change the way they go to market if they are to meet customer needs, and change the way they operate if they are to properly engage employees.
“At the same time, how organisations use technology to compete in a fractured marketplace is vital. Doing things the same way they have always been done is no longer an option and the organisations who embrace innovation and the rapid pace of technological change will be the ones who succeed. I’m looking forward to leading the Management Consulting team and advising clients as they look to evolve and meet the challenges of a tough economic climate head on.”
Michael’s appointment follows an open application process and he begins with immediate effect.
