KPMG has appointed Tom Brown, currently European head and deputy global head of investment management, to lead the global investment management practice from 1 October 2012.
Tom, who will be based in London, has been a partner within KPMG’s investment management practice since 1999 and will oversee a global team of more than 3,000 professionals.
Tom takes over from Dave Seymour who will be focusing on the opportunities within the US marketplace, after leading the global investment management practice for seven years.
Jeremy Anderson, global chairman of financial services at KPMG, commented: “Tom has made a tremendous impact to our European network and is taking on the global role at a very exciting time for the practice. I would like to thank Dave Seymour who has played an instrumental role in aligning our global investment management practice and overseeing a doubling of our investment management revenue to over USD two billion.”
Tom Brown commented: “I am delighted to be taking on this new role. It is a very exciting time to be working in the asset management space and the sector has a vital role to play in society, supporting the global wealth management and savings market. The industry currently faces many challenges, not least the sheer volume of regulation reshaping the sector. I look forward to working with our global team to help our clients navigate through these challenging times.”
KPMG’s global investment management team comprises more than 3,000 professionals in 144 countries offering tax, audit and advisory services.
