KPMG appoints Head of Diversified Industrials practice

KPMG has appointed Stephen Cooper as UK Head of its Diversified Industrials practice.  Stephen is an audit partner and has been with the firm for 30 years.

Stephen manages a number of multinational clients and has extensive UK and international experience within KPMG’s audit and transaction services practices. His new role will focus on leading KPMG’s UK Diversified Industrial sector. This includes ensuring that KPMG continues to offer clients insight into industry developments and is at the forefront of thought leadership on industry topics.

Geoff Dobbs, Global Head of Diversified Industrials at KPMG, said: “Stephen brings a wealth of experience to the role. He has extensive experience of working with international groups. This is a challenging time for our clients and we are assisting clients with innovative solutions to address emerging market issues, both in improving business efficiencies and developing new opportunities.”

Stephen Cooper said: “This is a challenging time for businesses in the Diversified Industrials markets. While there are increasingly attractive export options through the lower value of the pound, issues such as public sector cuts are having ongoing impact on some areas such as defence spending, as well as infrastructure spending. This means that our clients are closely monitoring the markets, their supply chains and keeping a close eye on production costs. I look forward to working with our KPMG teams to assist clients in managing and modelling their businesses and addressing UK, European and wider markets issues.”

Stephen is a qualified accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). KPMG’s Diversified Industrials comprises a wide range of industrial manufacturing and integrated technology businesses. To meet the different needs and requirements, KPMG manages these markets by differentiating between the following sub-sectors; Aerospace & Defence, Conglomerates, Engineering & Industrial Products, and Metals & Steel.
