A quarter of new KPMG partners are women

KPMG in the UK has announced the appointment of 29 new partners and 88 new directors from within the firm.  The promotions took effect from 1 October – KPMG’s new financial year.

Across KPMG Europe LLP as a whole*, there have been 102 new partners appointed from within the firm, effective from 1 October.

In the UK, 24 percent of the new partners and 30 percent of the new directors are women.  This compares to a figure of 14 percent women across the firm’s existing partners.

The promotions come as KPMG also continues to recruit widely from outside the firm.  In the UK, KPMG expects to recruit approximately 3,000 graduates and school leavers over the next three years and around 7,500 new hires over the next five years.

Richard Bennison, CEO of KPMG in the UK, said: “We are delighted to be able to make these new appointments and congratulate all the individuals involved.  We depend on the high quality of our people, which is why we are committed to recognising and rewarding high performance.

“We are also very pleased to be able to improve the gender balance amongst our partners.  We are genuinely committed to enabling more women to reach senior positions.”
