The key survey findings can be divided into two distinct categories: average number of key controls by process, and automated versus manual controls. Following are some brief takeaways from each category:

 

  • The average number of key controls was 301
  • The average percentage of automated key controls is 27 percent, and 73 percent for manual controls
  • The average number of key controls in the electronics industry was 354
