What is Young Achievers?

Young Achievers is a four-day education camp for 15 to 17 year-olds run by KPMG — one of the world's largest professional firms — on the campus of a Singapore university. This programme runs from 20 to 23 November 2012.

Our goal is to connect with the next generation by providing them with an educational, rewarding, and fun experience.

Participants gain understanding of teams and teambuilding, how to deliver professional presentations, what's driving the global economy, and business strategy. Through team games, discussions, a visit to a globally known local company, and a case study, participants learn while having fun. At the finale, participants deliver a team presentation.

What are the goals?

  • To gain insight into how businesses make money in the Singapore and global economy
  • To build the ability to think strategically, work well in teams, and communicate clearly

What do teams do at the finale?

Young Achievers builds to a conclusion on day four when participants deliver a final team presentation to an audience of KPMG Partners and Managers from Audit, Tax, and Advisory — we also invite all parents to come along.

The KPMG professionals will give valuable, practical, personal feedback to participants on their strengths and areas where they can improve.

What do participants learn?

Teams will have a tour of a globally known Singapore company to get a behind-the-scenes insight into its workings. They will interview key people in the company. In their final presentation, teams will communicate their business analysis and suggestions for how to improve that business. To ready participants for these tasks, teams will have had activities and discussions along the way to build their understanding of...
