Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam delivered the 2013 Singapore Budget Statement in Parliament on Monday, 25th February 2013.

This year, the theme of restructuring Singapore’s economy continued. While we saw little in the way of more measures to encourage ‘value creation’ activities such as branding and research and development, more measures were announced in the continued drive to improve productivity and reduce the reliance on foreign labour.
We also saw continued efforts to build a more inclusive and better home for Singaporeans. New measures were introduced to narrow the income gap in society as well as provide much-needed support to the elderly and the lower income group.
