In October 2010, the Securities Investors Association of Singapore (SIAS), together with their industry partners, including KPMG launched the Inaugural Corporate Governance Week titled: Asian Investors' Corporate Governance Conference 2010. There were more than 400 corporate governance professionals, directors and senior managers from listed companies in Asia who attended this event. The success of the inaugural event in the first year, has resulted in the SIAS's event being a permanent fixture in Singapore's corporate calendar of events and KPMG is proud to be associated to partner with SIAS in support of Corporate Governance Week.
KPMG hosted one of the four Executive Workshops, titled: "The Role and Responsibilities of Independent Directors and Board Chairmen in Corporate Singapore". As part of the Executive Workshop, KPMG had the occasion graced by three well known experts in their respective fields of practice and explored these key areas:
