Singapore Enterprise Risk Management Survey 2010

Charting a safe and sustainable growth journey

The third edition of this KPMG survey, covering 203 companies across Singapore's private sector, reveals that while the adoption of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is significantly increasing in Singapore, most companies are still at the early stage of development and missing out on the more strategic benefits of ERM. Hence, this survey sheds light on the general state of ERM adoption in Singapore, the key pitfalls when embarking into ERM to finally provide insight on how companies can sustain their ERM programmes.

The recent financial crisis has underscored the importance of 'knowing one's risks'. While all risks cannot be totally eradicated or avoided, organisations employing risk management may understand the risks they face better and can take the appropriate action.
