KPMG is expanding the firm’s geographic footprint in Russian regions: On 6 September a new office of the firm opened in Perm – the ninth office in Russia and the 19th in the CIS. As a result KPMG is the first Big Four firm to open a second office in the Urals. The opening ceremony was attended by Alexey Chibisov, Acting Vice Premier for Economic Policy in Perm Krai Government, Sergey Yurpalov, Deputy Head of Governor’s Administration and representatives of KPMG Urals Regional Center.
The opening of the office in Perm is stipulated by the agreement between the Government of Perm Krai and KPMG on the joint implementation of the City of Accountants project, which has the goal of enhancing the appeal of Perm Krai as the location of the accounting shared service centers of major Russian and international companies.
Commenting on the opening of KPMG’s office in Perm, Oleg Goshchansky, Senior Partner-Elect from 1 October 2012, KPMG in Russia and the CIS, noted: “The Urals is one of the largest centers of Russia's economy and the opening of a second office in this strategically important region will enable KPMG, on the one hand, to work more effectively with existing clients, and on the other hand, to satisfy growing demand for audit and advisory services of an international level in the region. Through our presence here we will have an opportunity to be closer to our clients and to react promptly to business demand. In addition, Perm is home to a number of strong professionals and it is our hope that they will form the core of our team in this city.”
Dmitri Ustinov will run the new office.
