“The survey results will be useful not only to Russian AML/CFT professionals, but also to bank shareholders and executives, since they make it possible to compare the current processes and approaches used by banks with international trends in this area in other countries. Bearing in mind the importance of the US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) for the global financial community, not least for Russian banks, this year's survey included questions on the implementation of FATCA, including an analysis of the work of the "Know your client" system, officially in place and successfully operating at Russian banks since 2002.”, comments Dmitry Chistov, Director of Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) at KPMG in Russia and the CIS.
