KPMG in Romania Appoints New Director in Advisory Department

3 April 2013, Bucharest

KPMG in Romania has appointed Mihai Zoescu as Director, Transaction Services, with effect from 1 April 2013.

Mihai joined KPMG in 2003. He graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Faculty of Finance, Insurance, Banks and Stock Exchanges. He has a Master’s degree in the same field and is a member of several national and international professional organizations (ACCA, CAFR, CECCAR). In 2004 Mihai achieved the highest mark worldwide out of more than 14.000 students in one of the ACCA papers.

Mihai has extensive experience in M&A projects and this appointment is not only a recognition of his professionalism but is also a challenge to consistently develop the TS practice under strenuous economic conditions.

“The economic crisis has had a significant impact on how business is done. Organizations must innovate and rapidly change their technology to succeed. I am looking forward to addressing new challenges from my new position and to offering clients the services they need to make the best of the existing opportunities and develop in the new business realities” says Zoescu. “I am honoured to be the leader of a team with so many talented professionals”, he adds. Zoescu fully appreciates the importance of keeping a balance between his career and personal life, and he dedicates his spare time to his family, to meeting with friends and to his hobbies.

As Serban Toader, Senior Partner at KPMG in Romania says: “It’s a great pleasure to welcome Mihai as a Director of the Transaction Services Team. He has shown real dedication to the company and to developing the client base. He is an excellent team player, with an entrepreneurial attitude and innovative thinking.  I’m convinced that he will lead many more successful engagements in the future.”
