KPMG in Romania continues its development strategy and hires 90 young professionals

10 October 2013, Bucharest

Starting 1 October 2013, KPMG in Romania has hired 90 young professionals, validating our confidence in Romania’s business environment and economic growth. The new professionals have undergone a rigorous recruitment process, aligned to KPMG’s strategy of attracting and retaining employees with the potential to develop and adapt to client needs.

70 of the new hires will form part of the first class of the KPMG Business School, a 2-year program designed for students interested in developing a career in Audit. During this period, the applicants will go through a complex curriculum, which aims to enhance both their technical and personal aptitudes, to offer them an overview of the financial sector and the possibility of practical experience in Audit. It also challenges their creativity, stimulates innovation and increases professionalism among future generations of consultants.

Serban Toader, Senior Partner at KPMG in Romania, explains: “At KPMG, we have always recognized the importance of getting involved in education and supporting the willingness to develop. KPMG Business School complements university studies and offers students the possibility to gain relevant and tested work experience in Audit and consultancy before graduation, and therefore, an important competitive advantage. I believe that, besides the direct benefit we offer to students involved in this program, there is an important benefit for our clients, because they will take advantage of services provided by professionals with training above the market level.”

KPMG Business School is part of the Audit Delivery Academy, a special department whose purpose is to increase the efficiency of Audit projects, as well as provide students with key capabilities to perform Audit specific tasks. This approach closely follows KPMG in Romania’s strategy to deliver superior services to our Audit clients, combining our highly trained specialists’ input with the high output of technology processed information.

As Aura Giurcaneanu, Head of Audit and Assurance at KPMG in Romania says: “This project is very important for me. We started this journey a year ago – a pilot program that has seen constant improvements and whose success has given us the confidence to launch it as KPMG Business School. With this initiative, KPMG in Romania has become a centre of excellence for KPMG offices from other countries, and now delivers services to KPMG offices worldwide.”
