Taxmail - Inland Revenue releases statement on tax avoidance

Issue 1,  Januay 2012

We welcome the statement insofar as it indicates the Commissioner’s desire to publish his view of this topical area of law.  However, as with most Inland Revenue statements, this one is not without its difficulties.

Taxmail wishes all its readers a happy and prosperous 2012.
Many will be aware that Inland Revenue released its updated draft anti-avoidance interpretation statement just prior to Christmas.

We realised the need for a good break over the summer holidays, and so delayed this edition of Taxmail.

We hope you will be able to approach this with a fresh look just as the Commissioner has.
