Government discussion document on moving to an improved tax administration
Transform IR is aimed at modernising New Zealand’s tax administration. Today’s Government discussion document outlines proposals to change the tax rules to allow that to happen.
The proposals are aimed at increasing electronic interaction with Inland Revenue, starting with PAYE filing, further reducing the tax return requirements for salary and wage earners and changes to the taxpayer secrecy rules. These proposals are wide ranging and will impact how you interact with Inland Revenue and will require a considered response.
