Registered banks, finance companies and savings institutions
What is the positive outcome of the GFC?
2011 did not see the recovery commence with anywhere near the impetus many had forecast. Confidence remains brittle and is overly impacted with every piece of bad news, while good news is viewed with caution.
Deleveraging continues, and may do for some time yet. All in all, while things are still uncertain globally, particularly in Europe, the general feeling is that New Zealand isn’t such a bad economy to operate in. If there has been any positive outcome to the GFC?
It appears it has been a growth in savings, and the awareness of its importance, combined with fiscal caution.
Once again, KPMG's Financial Services Group is proud to present our Financial Institutions Performance Survey providing our analysis of the registered banks, the finance companies and the savings institutions sectors in New Zealand for the year 2011.
