Ceri is a specialist in financial services advisory, accounting for financial services businesses and financial services regulation. Using her detailed knowledge of the industry combined with her technical, regulatory and risk management experience. Ceri has a strong ability to understand the business impacts of accounting and regulatory change.
Ceri is the partner of KPMG New Zealand’s Financial and Regulatory Risk Management practice. She provides regulatory, risk, accounting and compliance advice for financial service clients. Ceri has a deep and detailed knowledge of financial products, financial services businesses and financial risk and a strong ability to explain complicated concepts in simple and easy to understand language.
Ceri is responsible for leading KPMG’s roll out of some of the complex new accounting, regulatory and capital requirements which will impact the financial services industry over the next few years (IFRS9, Capital Requirements, FATCA, AML etc.) and frequently presents on these topics. Ceri is a member of KPMG’s international global network of professionals responsible for focusing on these changes and supporting our financial services regulatory centre of excellence group through sharing knowledge of local and global regulatory change.
Prior to leading the financial and regulatory risk management team, Ceri was a NZ IFRS specialist as part a team dealing with IFRS conversion as more than just an accounting exercise. Ceri’s particular focus was the financial services industry. As well as providing complex technical IFRS accounting analysis Ceri focused on project managing large scale companies transitions and integration of IFRS into the underlying finance functions and wider business. After the completion of NZ IFRS transition in New Zealand Ceri provided specialist accounting and GAAP integration advice for large transactions such as acquisitions, securitisations and IPOs.
Her clients include major projects for Westpac, Bank of New Zealand, Heartland Bank, ASB, Co-operative Bank, Fonterra, New Zealand Superannuation Fund and Crown Fibre Holdings.
Ceri holds a BA (Hons) English Literature and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
