Alan is the National Managing Partner of KPMG’s Risk Consulting services and a member of KPMG New Zealand’s National Executive Committee. He has over 25 years accounting, auditing and advisory experience.
Our Risk Consulting team delivers services covering performance and technology and risk and compliance.
Alan is also the Lead Partner for our Retail sector offering. He started his career as an Auditor in London before joining the Auckland office on secondment in 1987. Alan became a partner on 1 January 1995.
Alan was responsible for building KPMG’s Business Advisory team from 2002 to 2005. During this time he focused on improving the team’s performance and culture whilst delivering audit and advisory services to small businesses. As part of this role Alan was responsible for the division's graduate recruitment programme.
Alan then spent 3 years in Shanghai. Although KPMG’s Shanghai office communicates in English, the culture and corporate style is very different to that in Auckland.
Since returning to KPMG Auckland in October 2008 Alan has provided training on behalf of the New Zealand Institute of Directors on risk management and governance best practices.
