Corporate Citizenship

At the heart of KPMG’s values is a commitment to the community and the environment in which we operate, and the issues that affect it. That commitment is one of the enduring qualities of our people and our brand. It’s a core part of our Employer of Choice Strategy.

Charities

KPMG supports various charities through monetary donations. KPMG staff members generate donations via various organised fundraising events.

Bay Kids

KPMG sponsored an initiative in collaboration with one of the leading local radio stations to raise funds in aid to procure a vehicle tailored for people  with special needs.

Give as you Earn

Payroll Giving, is a term used to describe charitable donations deducted from the gross pay of KPMG employees before the calculation of tax. The Payroll Giving Scheme provides the most flexible, tax-efficient method for an employee to make regular donations to the charity of their choice. KPMG recognises the diversity of need in today’s world and, with this in mind, a range of institutions  have been selected. These institutions cover national and international causes, addressing both emergency and welfare needs as well as longer term development.

Dress down Days

On a quarterly basis, KPMG employees and partners join in a Dress-Down-Day where all involved are encouraged to dress in a more relaxed business attire while still respecting office dress-code policies. Whoever takes on this initiative donates to the funds being set aside for any specific cause at the time.

Community

Over 25 staff members have organised themselves from the early hours in the morning and contributed in various ways to finish this mini-project just over noon in the same day.

Kids-Days-out

On various occasions KPMG employees, partners and  their families get together to enable various kids from diverse crèches around Malta to enjoy a full day out , jam-packed with fun events. Entertainment venues such as Splash-n-fun , Bowling alley, Cinemas, kids playing areas, Popeye’s Village and water fun-parks and playgrounds were amongst the places visited by the team of volunteers and the kids.

Non-chargeable professional services

Staff members and partners at KPMG offer their  time and professional services to non-profit organisations and entities. We participate in  various national events such as L-Istrina and Paqpaqli ghal-Istrina .

Christmas in a box

This initiative is an annual  collective effort by all staff members, partners at KPMG and their families and friends.  In December 2010 over 450 empty shoe boxes where filled in with educational material, accessories and toys varying from gifts appropriate for infants up to early teenagers, wrapped and decorated with immense dedication and distributed to over 30 different open-houses, institutions and organisations.

Environmental

Tree-4-U Campaign

KPMG joined an ongoing national green-initiative. The Tree-4-U campaign is a campaign giving people the opportunity to make a difference by participating in local forestation projects. The trees are being planted in one of the forestation sites around the Maltese Islands. KPMG  partners and staff ‘sponsored’ various trees as part of this initiative and also contributed in the actual work to plant the trees in the northern zone of the Maltese Islands.
