Business Networking Event

Junior Chamber International Malta (‘JCI’) has, for its fifth consecutive year, organised its annual business networking event. The event was held at the end of May at the Grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana.

The 2010 JCI Business Networking Event (‘JCI BNE’) was supported by the Ministry of Finance, the Economy and Investment and was one of the various events organised as part of the European SME Week 2010.

Over 60 participants attended this year’s event, which was kicked off with a keynote speech by Hon. Robert Arrigo, Parliamentary Assistant within the Ministry of Finance, the Economy and Investment. This was then followed with three sets of five one-to-one formal networking meetings. Each five minute one-to-one meeting gave the participants the possibility to introduce themselves to other participants, share their experiences, ideas and initiatives, which could potentially expose them to new opportunities. Following the formal networking sessions a reception was held during which participants could benefit from further informal networking.

Mr Eric Muscat – KPMG in Malta, Mr Joseph FX Zahra - MISCO, Mr Karl Farrugia Wismayer - AllCare Insurance Brokers Limited, Mr Martin Gregory - Vodafone Malta Limited, and Dr Roberta Lepre - Weave Consulting, were this year’s patrons for the event. Throughout the evening Patrons shared their views on networking and the impact this has had on their personal career development as well as met other participants during the formal one-to-one networking sessions.

Karl Grech, JCI Malta 2010 National President, expressed his satisfaction at the variety and depth of the participants that attended this year’s BNE, “It was great to see such a large number of entrepreneurs and business professionals together in one room. The event, which is one of the flagship projects of JCI Malta, has always attracted a very positive turnout. With membership on the increase, we look forward to working closer with local aspiring and established entrepreneurs and business professionals to ensure that they are aware of the infinite networking opportunities available through JCI.”
