Hong brings 25 years of energy and natural resources experience. As a senior partner of KPMG Samjong Accounting Corp. (KPMG Korea), he is leading Energy and Natural Resources sector in Korea and also serving as the leader of the KPMG ASPAC ENR workstream in which 12 ASPAC countries are involved.
Professional and Industry Experience
Hong has extensive experience with the Nation’s biggest energy, power and steel companies earning him a great reputation as a specialist in the field. Hong also worked for KPMG Philadelphia office for two years from 1991 to 1993, which brings in-depth understanding of U.S. GAAP and U.S. audit practices.
Hong’s experience includes;
Audit of Korea Electric Power Corp (KEPCO, SEC listed), and its major subsidiaries (Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Korea Western Power, Korea East-West Power), POSCO (the largest steel company in Korea, SEC listed) and it subs, Korea Gas Corporation, SK E&S (the largest holding company of Gas Companies in Korea and it subs, GS Caltex Corporation (the second largest oil company in Korea), Hyundai Oil Bank and other energy companies.
