Akhil Bansal is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) with KPMG in India.
He is a gold medalist in Bachelor of Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant (all India ranker), with over 24 years of experience in the audit and consulting business. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and is an accredited IFRS Partner.
Akhil is associated with KPMG in India for the last 17 years, and was appointed as a Partner in 2000. Before settling into a progressive role with the Firm, he apprenticed and worked with PwC and Arthur Andersen.
In his current role as COO, he manages key areas including strategy business planning, growth initiatives, and clients whilst focussing on operations/business efficiency, business support functions – shared services and compliance. Akhil has also worked significantly on international and Indian financial reporting assignments including many Indian and international IPOs.
He also occupies posts at eminent institutions like the PHD Chamber of Commerce - member of the management committee. He is Co-Chairman of the Economic Affairs Subcommittee, member of the CSR Committee at ASSOCHAM, member of the Board of Trustees at Sunderlal Jain Hospital and a member of the Board of Advisors to Literacy India. He also shares his experience and knowledge by actively speaking at both internal and external events organised by FICCI, PHD ASSOCHAM, AIMA and other eminent industry bodies.
