The Isle of Man is recognised as one of the most dynamic and reputable jurisdictions in the e-gaming industry and is listed on the UK’s e-gaming ‘white list’. The Island’s ICT infrastructure can also be considered to be world-class with leading-edge fixed and mobile telecoms networks, numerous disaster recovery and hosting facilities and highly resilient bandwidth connectivity.
The Isle of Man Government is committed to the on-going development of the e-gaming sector and its “can-do” attitude has encouraged a growing network of e-gaming businesses and software development companies to operate from the Isle of Man.

Doing e-gaming business in any jurisdiction requires an excellent source of advisers and service providers. KPMG has been actively working with the sector since its early days on the island and recently signalled its commitment at a global level with the release of the brochure:

‘Online Gaming; A Gamble or a Sure Bet?’

 

One of the key contributors to the publication was Archie Watt, who has recently joined the Isle of Man firm from KPMG in London, where he was working in IT Advisory for the Information, Communication and Entertainment practice, with a focus on online gaming clients. Archie has worked for KPMG in London since 2006 and before this was with BDO in London, where he worked on the public listings of 888, Playtech and PartyGaming amongst others.

 

In addition, Micky Swindale’s remuneration survey team is currently working with Compensation & Benefits specialists in the sector, across a number of jurisdictions, to develop a gaming-specific online remuneration and benefits survey.
