Amongst the award winners were Smurfit Kappa (Company of The Year) and John Moloney of Glanbia (Business Person of the Year). Speaking at the awards, Managing Partner of KPMG Shaun Murphy said; ”At KPMG we believe it is important to acknowledge achievement and to invest in events like this - to highlight Ireland’s many success stories in different sectors; to invest in younger talent as we do through the 275 graduates we have recruited this year and through our sponsorship of Katie Taylor – a great young ambassador for Ireland”.
US Senator George Mitchell was presented with the 2013 Outstanding Contribution to Ireland Award for his invaluable leadership role in the negotiations that led to the signing of the Good Friday Agreement. Award winners also included Sir Terry Leahy , former CEO of Tesco and Integrity Solutions, winner of the AIB Enterprise of the Year Award. Amongst the other highlights of the evening were presentations for The 2013 Outstanding Contribution to Brand Ireland Award to both Irish rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll and Olympic Champion Katie Taylor.
