Native Woodland Trust: Trees for Schools

KPMG are delighted to be the sponsors of The Native Woodland Trusts’ Trees for Schools Week which will run from 4 to 10 March 2013. This provides an exciting opportunity for schools throughout the Republic of Ireland to make a positive impact on their local environment by planting native Irish species in the school area.

For many years sustainability has been an important aspect of KPMG’s commitment to the environment – for example we currently compile the Carbon Disclosure Project on behalf of CDP Ireland – helping businesses manage how they report their impact on the environment. In addition we are Irelands first Carbon Neutral professional services firm. We also have a long standing relationship with various schools as part of our hugely successful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

 

According to Karina Howley – Head of CSR at KPMG  ‘Our support of The Native Woodland Trusts Trees for Schools Week reinforces KPMG’s commitment to improving our environment and working with schools to underpin the educational aspects of environmental protection.’

 

Karina comments ‘This programme of tree planting has a proven record of helping improve the immediate environs of many schools and will  doubtless also be a fun and interesting project for schoolchildren to be involved in.’
