Before dinner, Terence O’Rourke (Managing Partner, KPMG in Ireland) welcomed friends and former colleagues to the event and spoke about KPMG’s plans to reinforce the legacy of Denis O’Connor, our former Managing Partner who sadly passed away from cancer over five years ago. KPMG has agreed to support the drive to raise €125,000 to help provide a Daffodil Centre at Dublin’s Mater Hospital. Terence spoke about the plans for the Daffodil Centre, highlighting its huge value as a “drop in” resource for those diagnosed with cancer and their family and friends. Terence also noted that the centres are open to all, with no referral or appointment necessary.

With the speech concluded, the dinner service began and the Convention Centre provided impeccable service and wonderful food and wine throughout the evening.
The nominated charities for this year’s raffle were Irish Autism Action and the Children’s Sunshine Home. True to form, our guests were extremely generous, and over €15,000 was raised for these well deserving causes. As ever, we are most grateful to everyone who contributed on the evening.

The formal proceedings drew to a close once Terence completed the raffle draw. Our congratulations to Mike Farrell who won 1st prize— a weekend for two at the fabulous Lough Eske in County Donegal. Nessa Fitzgerald and Brian Kane were the lucky winners of the remaining raffle prizes.
