Cork City Gaol, which operated as a prison from 1824 to 1923, also served as a base for Radio Eireann (now RTE) from 1927 to the 1950s. Now beautifully restored, the gaol plays host to a wonderful collection of artefacts, including the RTE Collection, which is housed in the former Governor’s House.
In his welcoming address at the event, Colin O’Brien (KPMG Partner) commented on the current difficult times in business but stressed the positive links and ties with the alumni. Those in attendance also reflected on the untimely death of Flor Crowley who tragically died in a car accident over the Christmas period. Flor trained at KPMG in 1982 and had close ties with the alumni. Colin also took the opportunity to congratulate Celine Fox on her recent appointment as Resident Partner at KPMG.
Alumni events are a great opportunity to re-establish old ties and make new ones. If you would like us to update your details so that you can participate in future alumni events, or you know of a former colleague who would like to be added to our alumni list, please visit the Membership page.
