Valuation is a constantly evolving discipline, shaped by theoretical advances and the adoption of some of these advances by practitioners. KPMG’s Global Valuation Institute (GVI) has been established to sponsor research and support dialogue on current valuation matters affecting companies, investors and regulators. The GVI is comprised of KPMG professionals and leading academics with strong credentials in the field of valuation and financial reporting who have a shared commitment to bridge academic research with practice excellence.

Tim Jenkinson

Tim Jenkinson
Tim Jenkinson is a Professor of Finance at the Saïd Business School at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. He is also Director of the Oxford Private Equity Institute. His academic research focuses on corporate finance - in particular private equity, initial public offerings, and corporate governance - and has been published in leading international journals and books. He is a director of various companies including the economic consulting firm, Oxford Economic Research Associates (Oxera) and the UK-listed investment fund, PSource Structured Debt (LSE: PSD). Tim has consulted for a large number of companies, regulators, government agencies, and industry associations.


Dr. Guohua Jiang

Dr. Guohua Jiang

Guohua Jiang is a Professor of Accounting at the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University, China. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Professor Jiang's research focuses on financial statement analysis and firm valuation, securities market regulation, and investor protection issues in emerging markets. He has published in leading international academic journals, as well as books in Chinese. Professor Jiang has consulted for investment funds, financial companies, and China's Ministry of Finance, and serves in a few corporate boards.


Linda Vincent

Linda Vincent
Linda Vincent is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University in the United States. Her research interests encompass business combinations, divisive restructurings, acquisitions, and the informativeness of financial reporting data for securities returns under different information environments and capital structures. She has published numerous articles in and served on the editorial board for several leading academic journals. In addition, Professor Vincent has served as the Chair for the Financial Reporting Issues Conference hosted by the Financial Statement Standards Boards and the International Accounting Standards Board.

Doug McPhee

Doug McPhee

Doug McPhee is a Partner of KPMG's Corporate Finance division in the UK based in the London office. He is Chairman of KPMG's Global Valuation Services and Head of Europe, Middle East & Africa Valuation Services. Doug is a Chartered Business Valuator and a member of the Professional Board of the International Valuation Standards Committee (IVSC). Doug's global experience includes valuing public and private corporations and leading complex valuation, joint venture and fairness opinion assignments based on the ground in Asia Pacific, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. He works across sectors and clients include major global corporate as well as sovereign wealth, private equity and infrastructure funds.

Yves Courtois

Yves Courtois

Yves Courtois leads KPMG's Corporate Finance and Private Equity practice in the Luxembourg member firm. He is also a member of KPMG's Global Valuation Committee. Yves is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Chartered Market Technician and an "Expert Comptable". His global experience in valuation includes fairness opinions, strategic advice for acquisitions, divestitures and restructurings, independent valuation of privately held portfolios, litigation support, value based management and financial reporting. His experience across sectors and clients include global corporations, financial services firms, private equity, infrastructure, real estate and hedge funds. Yves has authored several publications on cost of capital, private equity and real estate. He has been an adviser to the CFA Institute on the CFA Curriculum since 2005.

Jean-Florent Rerolle

Jean-Florent Rerolle

Jean-Florent is a Partner of KPMG Corporate Finance. He leads the Valuation and Strategic Finance practice in France. Jean-Florent’s global experience includes fairness opinions on public and private transactions, complex business valuations, restructurings, value based management advisory and integrated reporting assistance. As a recognized specialist in Corporate Governance, he is a member of the board of the French Institute of Directors. He is also a legal Finance Expert at the Court of Appeal of Paris. He is a frequent speaker and author on corporate finance, corporate governance and valuation and teaches finance in several French business schools (ENSAE, ESCP, HEC and Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris).
