Santosh has more than 12 years of experience in energy and utilities’ sector. An engineer-manager by training, he has worked extensively in areas of strategy formulation, regulatory economics including reforms and restructuring and program management and capacity building initiatives. Santosh has led multiple engagements in the solar space involving strategy formulation, EOI and DPR development, fund raising etc.

Relevant experience:


  • Undertaken a detailed study of different renewable energy areas including wind, biomass and min-hydel. Study included industry structure, potential and key players.
  • Assisted AP power utilities in discussions with Regulator on minimum renewable purchase obligation (RPO) determination for renewable energy.
  • Best Practices Report on Power Sector Reforms in India for CII, India.
  • Assisted AP utilities in proposing to APERC design of wind power tariffs.
  • Assisted the Gujarat Government in developing their strategy for solar park initiative.
  • Assisted the Andhra Pradesh Government in developing the solar policy for the State
  • Assisted MNRE, Government of India in developing strategy for solarising telecom towers in India
  • Has advising a leading infrastructure player in formulating strategy for solar sector.
  • Has advising a new entrant in solar thermal space on MoU/ PPA signing, negotiations, DPR preparation etc.
  • Lead the team in solar PV strategy formulation engagement  for a leading South Indian player.
  • Lead the team in developing s point of view on solar sector in India – ” The Rising Sun”
  • Advised a solar thin film manufacturer in business plan validation and fund raising.
  • Advised a solar crystalline player in business plan validation and fund raising.
  • Lead  the team in the “Development of Regulatory Information Management system (RIMS)” for the Forum of Regulators.
