Kerstin Meerwaldt is responsible for framing new business models in the field of Energy Management and Electric Mobility. In this role, she develops BMW’s Strategy in this field and explores future business models together with a broad network of experts within BMW and other stakeholders. Prior to that, she was responsible for the Electric Mobility Framework Strategy at BMW Group.
Before engaging in Electric Mobility and Energy, she worked for the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt.
During the first years, Kerstin was Head of Transatlantic Relations, in charge of directing all transatlantic projects. In 2007, she established and chaired a new department within the BMW Foundation, "Re-Thinking Society!”, with the goal of promoting an entrepreneurial spirit in society.
She was member of various boards and consulted numerous social businesses. Kerstin has also had a key role in designing the interdisciplinary academic project “The Poiesis Fellowship” in cooperation with New York University and London School of Economics/ Richard Sennett. Before joining the BMW Foundation, she was head of research management at the Academy for Politics and Current Affairs of the Hanns Seidel Foundation and also wrote for the Federal Center for Political Education. Kerstin Meerwaldt’s education include an M.A. in Political Science, Law and French from the University of Munich and a degree in foreign trade from Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
