Since 2007 Denis Fedorov has been Head of the Directorate for the Development of the Power Sector and Marketing in Power Generation, Gazprom, which manages the electric power assets of Gazprom Group. In 2009 he was appointed CEO of Gazprom Energoholding, a 100% Gazprom subsidiary, which has controlling interests in major generating assets - Mosenergo, TGC-1, OGK-2 and MOEK, with installed capacity of more than 38 GW and employing more than 46,000 people. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of OGK-2 and Tyumen Energy Sales Company and is a member of the Board of Directors of Mosenergo, TGC-1, FSK UES and INTER RAO UES.
Denis Fеdorov graduated from Moscow Bauman State Technology University and has a PhD in economics. He is the author of numerous articles and monographs. His current scientific interests are the development of the Russian electric power industry and the participation of large holding companies in the industry’s establishment.
Denis Fedorov is a member of the Supervisory Board of the non-profit partnership Center of Innovative and Power Technologies and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the non-profit partnership Council of Power Producers. Denis Fedorov defends the interests of power generating companies during discussions of planned amendments and addenda to the wholesale energy market, and plays an active role in the development and liberalization of the Russian power market, including the development of a new market model.
