David joined KPMG in 1984 and became a Partner in 1996. Initially an audit Partner for three years, David worked with BAE systems where his responsibilities included the client’s UK ship building operations and the Al Yamamah programme with Saudi Arabia. He then spent ten years advising on acquisitions and disposals for large corporate and private equity clients. Landmark deals included Morrison’s £3billion acquisition of Safeway, Focus DIY’s £1billion disposal of Wickes; Persimmon’s £700million acquisition of Westbury Homes and AMEC’s €1billion disposal of their French support services business Spie.
After two years in a European management role, David became Head of KPMG’s UK Power & Utilities Group in 2012. He currently leads KPMG’s relationships with RWE npower; EDF Energy; Thames Water and several other energy & utility companies. He is also the lead Partner with FTSE 100 Babcock International Group PLC.
