Marie-Theres Thiell works at RWE since 1990. She started in the legal department, later she was in various positions responsible for M+A and management of subsidiaries.
In 2005 she moved to Hungary, where she took over the position as a CFO of RWE Hungary, the regional leading company of RWE in Hungary and was in person union CFO of ELMŰ and ÉMÁSZ, the electricity supply companies in Budapest and north-east Hungary. In 2010 she become the CEO of RWE Hungaria and ELMŰ/ÉMÁSZ. Since 2011 she is beside the positions in Hungary Member of the Board of Directors RWE EAST, the company in charge to manage the activities of RWE in CEE. Besides country responsibility for Hungary, her other responsibilities include grid related issues, IT, Puchasing, HR and diversity.
Her RWE Group initiatives:
- Head of the Diversity Project (establishment of the Diversity Office in 2006).
- Establishing RWE Women’s Network, including 450 female colleagues across the group, organized through a Steering Committee in which all regions are represented.
- Initiation of Women’s in Energy Politics Workshops with groupwide participation.
