David Newhouse is Head of Funds Investments at EDF Invest since May 2014, where he is in charge of deploying the private equity program. EDF Invest is a dedicated structure launched in 2013 to invest, directly and indirectly, 25% of EDF Group €22 billion nuclear decommissioning fund in unlisted assets, such as infrastructure, real estate and private equity.
David Newhouse was previously Special Advisor for International Financial Affairs. In such capacity, which he held between 2011 and 2014, David in particular advised the Group CFO on international financial matters, developed the relationship with multilateral financial institutions and key long term financial investors, coordinated financial public affairs and contributed to the oversight of EDF Group North American operations. David joined the Group in 2006 as Senior Vice-President-investor relations and financial communications.
Prior to EDF Group, he was a Director for investor relations at Kering (ex PPR) a retail/sporting goods/luxury conglomerate (2000-2005) and at Valeo, a leading global auto components manufacturer (1996-1999). He started his career in 1985 as an investment banker first at Banque Indosuez and then at BZW specializing in corporate finance as well as debt and equity capital markets.
A French and British national, David Newhouse holds a graduate degree in finance from ESSEC leading business school and a graduate degree in public administration (public service) from IEP Paris.
