The IEA World Energy Outlook 2013 Report, an event co-hosted by EMA and IEA in partnership with KPMG, has presented a special report – “Southeast Asia Energy Outlook” for CEOs, energy policymaker, senior energy executives and economists in energy industry. The report highlighted the prospects of Southeast Asia regions as an emerging player with China and India to create a shift in the global energy system. Key note speaker is Dr Fatih Birol, Chief Economist of International Energy Agency (IEA), who is a prominent energy economist on the global energy market analysis. Success of the launching Global Energy Institute in Singapore, a business club cocktail event was introduced as an Institute’s initiative to bring together senior decision makers in the Energy and Natural Resource Sector. As a first business club, “Gas – above the ground” becomes the theme with over 200 audience attended the event. The main aspiration of this event is to create a platform for networking and allow guest speakers provide insights and forum for the senior decision makers in the energy industry. The inaugural KPMG Global Energy Conference - Asia Pacific and official launch of the KPMG Global Energy Institute – Asia Pacific was held in Singapore on April 25 2013. Themed on ‘Opportunities in Asia’, dealing with complexity in the fast changing energy landscape, over 300 delegates heard speakers from government, industry and other stakeholders as they shared insights on the quest for solutions balancing the requirements of regional economic growth, operational efficiency and energy security.
