Our Hong Kong SAR operations have been established for over 60 years, since 1945, and in 1992 KPMG was granted a license to set up a member firm in China; one of the first business advisory organizations to do so. Since that time the Chinese member firm has grown to ten offices – in Beijing, Qingdao, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macau. From these, more than 5,500 (though the number is growing by the day) professionals respond to our firm's client needs with a broad range of tax, audit and advisory services across different industries and national boundaries.
Now, KPMG is set to grow even more rapidly in the Chinese market, with additional new offices due to open in 2007 and 2008, and an objective to be represented in every major region in the country. This growth offers both challenges and opportunities for those with the drive to succeed in China – this means that you will have tremendous opportunities to accelerate your professional development and take on new responsibilities earlier in your career.
By market capitalization, clients of KPMG in China make up 39 percent of the top 100 Hong Kong listed companies and 19 percent of the top 100 China A-share companies.
