Hideyo Uchiyama joined Asahi & Co. (the predecessor to KPMG AZSA LLC) in 1979, and was elected to the partnership in 1992.
He was appointed head of the firm’s Public Sector Division in 2002 to focus on successfully providing services to the government and other public offices and agencies.
In 2006, he was elected as Executive Board Member of KPMG AZSA & Co., and was appointed to Office Managing Partner of the Tokyo Office in 2008, after serving four years as Deputy Office Managing Partner.
In June 2010, he was elected as Chairman & CEO of KPMG in Japan as well as Managing Partner of KPMG AZSA & Co (the predecessor to KPMG AZSA LLC).
Hideyo graduated from Waseda University in 1975 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics. He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Japan in 1980 and is a member of the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (JICPA).
