Uruguay - “Free zone” and other tax developments 

February 8:   In Uruguay, recent tax developments concern the following items (the KPMG member firm in Uruguay prepared reports on these developments, in Spanish):
  • Corporate income tax: The tax authorities published tables of monthly corporate income tax “advance” (estimated) payment.

  • Tax information exchange agreement with Argentina: Representatives of Uruguay and Argentina signed a tax information exchange agreement that generally follows OECD guidelines and that entered into force 7 February 2013.
