India - Release of APA program guidance is imminent

August 13:   The Indian government is expected to release its advance pricing agreement (APA) guidance in the immediate future—perhaps as early as this week.

The Union Budget 2012 included measures introducing an APA program—which was to have an effective date of 1 July 2012. See TaxNewsFlash-Transfer Pricing: India - Transfer pricing proposals in Union Budget 2012

However, the APA program guidance has not yet been issued. One reason for the APA program’s delayed release could be due to recent leadership changes in the Office of the Finance Ministry. According to reports from India, the newly appointed Finance Minister recently approved the APA guidance—thereby clearing the way for its release.
