China - Initial rules for Shanghai “pilot” free trade zone 

October 4:  The Shanghai government announced management procedures and rules for the “pilot” free trade zone. The guidance is intended to assist with investments made within the free trade zone by foreign investors and outbound investments.

Among the recent guidance relating to the Shanghai free trade zone are measures:

  • Providing implementation rules for the free trade zone
  • Including rules for foreign investors making investments in the free trade zone (e.g., required documents)

The guidance also contains a “negative” (or exclusion).
