Mexico - Measures in omnibus tax legislation for 2014  

January 28: An omnibus tax bill (Resolución Miscelánea Fiscal) for 2014 was published in the official gazette on 30 December 2013 and includes provisions concerning:
  • Digital invoices and online registration by taxpayers
  • Rules for payments made for goods and services provided to third parties, for value added tax (VAT) credit purposes
  • Electronic reporting to workers of the amounts of payroll and withholding taxes
  • Rules for taxpayers seeking to invoke the tax benefits under an income tax treaty
  • Rules for investment companies to separate their equity capital into multiple classes and categories of shares for income tax purposes
  • Provisions providing an election for those taxpayers that claimed an immediate deduction of amounts of their investments in new fixed assets in 2013
  • Rules concerning the net tax profit account (CUFIN) for residents of Mexico who, in 2013, received dividends or profit distributions
  • Measures concerning consolidated returns
