Canada - Tax rates unchanged in Nova Scotia’s 2014 budget

April 4: Nova Scotia’s Finance Minister yesterday delivered the province’s 2014 budget—which does not propose any corporate or individual (personal) income tax rate changes.

The 2014 budget for Nova Scotia would repeal a previously planned harmonized sales tax (HST) rate reduction and would eliminate the “graduate retention rebate”

The Nova Scotia government also confirmed a previous commitment to undertake a comprehensive review of taxes, fees, and regulations based on the principles of fairness, sustainability, simplicity, and competitiveness. The review will be delivered in fall 2014.
