Keiichi Ohwari: on margin and quality management

Talking Shop Healthcare - Keiichi Ohwari: on margin and quality management:

In Japan, many healthcare providers are facing the immediate need to improve their margin and quality. In order to develop effective strategies they need to think big and strong leadership is required. The Japanese market is over supplied and there are many providers are facing the need to reposition in the market so for this purpose they need to revisit their strategy and revisit which kind of services they should provide in the region. They need to identify which role they should take in the market, which type of services they can provide in the market and which should be differentiated from others. So, that’s the key issue for any Japanese hospitals, I think.

Keiichi Ohwari, a Partner with KPMG in Japan: “In order to develop effective strategies they need to think big and strong leadership is required.”
