Chrome and Ferrochrome: Commodity bulletin special edition – April 2012

Chrome ore prices saw a steady rise over mid 2010 to mid 2011 because of higher energy costs in South Africa, hike in Chinese demand and overall tighter supply. But with recent slowdown seen in Chinese economy and loosening of supply side, the prices have stabilized since then. As per Deutsche Bank, the prices settled at US$220/t for the fourth quarter of 2011 giving an average price for 2011 at US$249/t.
