The cloud deployment eco-system

Lines are blurring across the various types of cloud services and users need a better understanding of cloud’s value and power.

Two-thirds of cloud providers say they are most active in software-as-a-service applications (SaaS) and expect this to continue over the next 2 years.

Such a migration will be highly complex and users are unlikely to be able to do it on their own. Sixty-one percent of providers say their customers rely on a third-party for acquiring and/or integrating technology.

Customer relying on third-party

The survey also indicates that customers are using third-parties for a wide range of tasks such as technology implementation, business process transformation, information security assistance and strategy. This signifies the multi-functional impact of cloud and means providers will be working with a wide range of stakeholders.

To meet these challenges, providers expect to form a partnership, create or expand a consulting arm or acquire a complementary provider.
