Capitalizing on growth - Private equity in emerging Asia Pacific

Private Equity investors have descended on Asia, attracted to growth prospects that far exceed those of developed markets in Europe and the US.

From China to Thailand and Indonesia, governments are committed to increasing living standards and reducing their reliance on exports. Large populations, growing incomes and urbanization are contributing to driving an economic transformation that will create opportunities for PE investors.

There are challenges. Substantial funds have been raised for Asia and competition is fierce, leading to very high pricing on some assets. In some countries there is also often a lack of clarity around legal systems and regulations, governance is poor and corruption is perceived as a problem. In this report our private equity partners consider the opportunities and challenges of some of the key economies in the region. Using their local knowledge they aim to provide investors a high level overview of the prospects, and potential risks, of investment in these countries.
