KPMG today announced member firms were the recipients of two awards from the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF). Now in its third year, the AMCF Awards are given to projects that best illustrate how consulting teams add value to their clients’ organizations and society at large.
“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized for our dedication to client service through the AMCF Awards program and to have been chosen as a winner in both the corporate responsibility and finance/ risk management categories, demonstrating the diversity in KPMG member firms consulting capabilities,” said Mark A. Goodburn, Global Head of Advisory, KPMG. “These awards are a testament to clients’ success and market leadership, all of which pushes us to develop innovative, forward-thinking services to help them accelerate their business performance in the midst of industry transformation.”
KPMG’s US member firm, along with the City of New York, took home the Corporate Responsibility / Humanitarian award for their work on Sandy Relief. As a result of the team’s work, contractors were able to make 2,129 homes habitable in five months, with documented savings of US$10.4 million to the city as a result of identified instances of fraud, waste and abuse.
The Finance/Risk Management win came for KPMG in UK’s work with the global publisher, Elsevier, to help transform their finance operations. The team delivered a new Oracle-based system that not only significantly improved the efficiency of their finance function, but also provided more insightful and up-to-date management information.
KPMG was also named as a finalist in the following categories:
- Developing Markets
- Finance/Risk Management
- New and Digital Media
- Supply Chain
The AMCF Awards are chosen by an independent panel of judges who assess the quality of each submission and rigorously evaluate them against detailed selection criteria in 13 different categories. The AMCF honored the winners March 27, 2013 at a gala held at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City.
